Brindlewood Bay Discussion

There should only be a few entries (4 or 5 at most) in the Cozy Little Place after character creation. More can be gained throughout the campaign as the result of moves or GM’s discretion.

Once a Crown item is marked (Queen or Void) it cannot be unmarked. The only exception is the Maven Move called Frank Dowling.

Let me know how your game goes!

Thanks Jason. Just so I’m crystal clear, that means each player only has 12 total crown moves (7 Queen and 5 Void) to use across all of the 5 mysteries featured in the set?

It’s such a powerful resource, I completely understand why it needs to be limited or the session would be nothing but “What If’s?”

This will help emphasize with the players how valuable a commodity the Crown moves are.

Correct! It’s a trump card, but it’s also essentially their hit points.

I have recently read Brindlewood Bay and quite enjoyed it (despite it being a bit “thin” on the examples side, but there is definitely a limit on how much text you can put in a 40-page book).
As I am planning on playing it with my group of fellow Italians, I would like to make a few changes to the “color”, with umarell instead of mavens, a fictional northern Italy town instead of Brindlewood Bay, and some non-occult conspiracy.
I came here by googling the game and found out a few users are creating “carved from the brindlewood” games. Does that mean that BB is under some sort of an open licence? I am asking as I would like to post my hack online when finished and would love to know if this was possible and under which conditions.
Many thanks to all who can provide insight.

Nice, I was thinking about relocating the game in Pont Aven (Brittany) or Ouistreham (Normandy).

Hi - is there a print version of this game? Or only the pdf?

At the moment just pdf, but there’s going to be a kickstarter for print versions fairly soon, I think
