I thought this too! For example Amorphophallus titanum the Massive Misshapen Penis plant. Also known as the carrion flower. It smells like a corpse to attract the flies that polinate it. Ahhh, mother nature; so beautiful!

Chased-in-the-Bower (Sometimes inaccurately recorded as Chaste-in-the-Bower) is a climber that grows in forest clearings. It sports large, soft pink flowers with a heady aroma, though it is more known for its foliage. It grows a dense mat of leaves that form “curtains” between tree-trunks, and a surprisingly comfortable covering to the forest floor. In the springtime it is common for the local youths to wear the blooms, to the knowing grins of their elders.
The grim vine is not like other parasites that consume their host while living. Instead, it’s spores wait until the host has died or at least seen the black gate before erupting in a writhing mass of creepers and black thorns.
Moonroses grow in clusters of short stems with silver-tinged upturned, wide blossoms. When filled with rainwater, each Moonrose blossom reflects a moon from a different planet or universe. The wise can read these moons for secret messages; the powerful can channel their energy to fuel unworldly rituals.
The Bonelace is every chiurgeon’s best friend. Its capacity for binding wounds and reattaching limbs is a necessary crop in every village, but be careful with its application- it is all too happy to bind clothing to flesh as well!
Lepuflore is a rapid growing starchy tuber with a soft fluffy blooming flower. It can grow from a thumb sized cutting to a root the size a large rabbit in a few days. It draws out the nutrients and the soil will need to be left fallow for a season or two. Be careful where you discard cuttings, but is is a staple crop of nomadic folks who never stay in one place too long.
Ancestor trees are planted near the graves of ancestors. The fact that the only trees that bloom are the ones near visited loved ones, has given rise to the belief that the hallucinogenic tea made from the flowers is said to open the mind to the voices of the spirits.
The nuts of the dice tree have been carefully bred to be perfectly symmetrical, assuring fair rolls for all. Of course, there are off-brand dice with more or less obvious faults, but the best of these are the Icewarm dice - if your hand is cold, they roll low, if your hand is hot, they roll high. It still counts as cheating if you are caught out with one of these, though.
Wild Alimadra seeds gifted their eaters with a fleeting grasp of a few words in unknown languages. However, careful crossing created a variety giving temporary fluency in what became a new lingua franca, Onital, so nuanced that it was customary among poets to enjoy Alimadra seed cake with their foreign guests.
Seaborn’s Alluring Orchid has a unique pollination method: If you wander alone in the swamp, you may catch a sight of someone you love, entering a strange, green-walled tunnel. If you follow, they will stay always out of reach, until you reach the end of the tunnel. As you emerge from the tunnel, your love will vanish, leaving you blinking in the daylight, confused and covered in pollen.
And, in case anyone’s curious, the real-world plants whose odd traits I turned up to 11 for this are the Longleaf Pine and the Lady’s Slipper Orchid.
-Marcin’s Cattails found on Linda 5JY3 sway in the gentle waves along many riverbanks generating electricity and storing in the fluffy tips to be discharged when the cattail is endangered. The locals have learned to safely harvest them to be used at stun batons.
-The Whispering Willows found the deepest hearts of the elven forests are known to speak truths yet to come true. Travelers who rest beneath their serene branchs will hear many strange things that could give them a clue in the future if they listen.
And that’s it for this month! Thanks everybody for continuing to make picking just 36 so hard augh
