I’ve just been introduced to the TV show Pose, which is fantastic. I could have sworn there was an RPG based on the New York ballroom scene somewhere, but my Google Fu has failed me. Am I going mad? Was it a hack of another game or even just a one shot?

I wrote a campaign framework for Monsterhearts 2 called True Beauty. It’s based in the Harlem ballroom scene of the 1980s. True Beauty is in Codex - Joy 2. There’s a small expansion in Codex - Gold.

Midnight at the Oasis does indeed tell the story of a queer subculture, but I probably wouldn’t categorize it as ballroom. You def get some of the same types of queer—especially trans—stories, but the scene is pretty different.
