I was having a hard time figuring out what to pick up. Thankfully, Dungeons and Possums has culled the best (mostly OSR) content:

Oh man… There is so much good stuff in Possum’s list! I’m definitely going to dropping some cash!

One thing I will point out: not everything on Possum’s list is discounted. Annoying, but not the end of the world.

I’ll go ahead and include some of my suggestions that I’ve actually played:

Barbarians of Lemuria is a fun system that has one of the best ways to start the next session, and give the PCs a reason to keep adventuring: Any loot you find is gone at the start of next session, as it is a conceit of the game that you spent it all between adventures living the high life, eating the best food, sleeping in the best inns, etc. It’s pretty great!

Dungeon Crawl Classics has been my only real foray into the OSR domain, but I’ve really enjoyed playing it and running characters from level 0 pig farmers into actual adventurers.

Golden Sky Stories touches a comfy place in my heart, it’s a great game for anyone with stories about helpful animal spirits having cute friendship adventures. It may not be saving the world, but helping someone find their lost puppy can have it’s own kind of drama.

Monster of the Week is an older title that could do with a 2nd Ed at this point, but it’s still a solid game to throw down for a large number of sessions. You play monster hunters in the vein of Supernatural, or of Scooby Doo depending on your tone, hunting down whatever creature is causing trouble and finding out just what is really going on in this here town.

ORC STABR is a fun lightweight 1 page game about being orcs who stab things. It’s fun, it’s silly, and there’s a lot of Orc Death, so it’s a great backup game to have.
