Hearts of Wulin: Measure of the Soul (season 2, 8 sessions)

This series is a second run/season, but we will be pulling from the wait list if a player is unable to make it! You do not need to be familiar with the game or story so far to jump right in, we’ll take good care of you! I will email everyone a week ahead to confirm attendance.

Hearts of Wulin is a game inspired by the melodramatic tales of wuxia. Players take the role of skilled martial artists in a world of rival clans, conspiracies, and obligations. The game emulates films like Painted Skin, White Snake, A Chinese Ghost Story, and other supernatural wuxia films and television.

In these tales, romance is as dangerous as a blade. Everyone has ties to factions, loves they can’t quite express, and secrets which will shake them to their core. As in the source material, stories in Hearts of Wulin are driven by the characters’ duties, romantic desires, and entanglements with other characters.

For this game we will lean heavily into the supernatural themes, and will take inspiration (but will not directly emulate) Chinese folklore and horror stories.

CW: Body horror, supernatural hauntings and monsters, strong themes of horror. Romance and other strong emotional ties.

Duration : Eight 3 hour sessions

Breaks : 2 breaks per session (5-10 mins)

Venue : GM’s Zoom

Recording : Yes, but made public only if consent by all the players

Attendance : Joining all eight sessions is ideal but not required

Safety : Lines & Veils, Script Change, an open door policy. Tools can be changed to suit the players.
