One-Page RPG Jam (Aug 2020)

There is a one-page RPG jam on itch.io, ending Aug 31.
This thread is for people to share their progress, get feedback, and celebrate their accomplishments.

I’m thinking of setting up an online session (or two) via Zoom for participants from the Gauntlet to share their ideas and get real-time feedback. This session would be weekday evenings Eastern US time, probably second week of August. Fave or reply to this message if this is something you’d be interested in.

I would be interested in the real time feedback. This sounds great!

Just a reminder that the rules around organizing sessions are that either you put your game on The Gauntlet calendar and you adhere to the rules of Gauntlet games, or you don’t advertise your sessions on the board at all. And if you want to host a session, you must have a history of participating in Gauntlet sessions to be able to do that. It’s really poorly written in the board rules and people trip over it every other month. You’re free to talk details with interested folks over private messages though but whether you can gauge people’s interest in a public thread is a gray area.

Thanks for your vigilance, Dominik!

In my reading, the sessions Dan is proposing for designers to gather and discuss their projects are distinct from Gauntlet calendar games. More like a designer jam session for folks interested in this jam. I’m happy to be corrected by a mod if I’m off-base, but it doesn’t sound to me like Dan is running afoul of any rules here!

@dominik, does this include meeting to have discussion around games rather than game sessions? It does seem that this sort of discussion is MUCH less likely to fall into the risks of “bleed” compared to an emotional rpg session. On the other hand, of course, we would not want people to start running infomercials or the like.

About an hour ago, I was lamenting over dinner that I had no ideas for the One-Page RPG Jam. Sooo… I just finished dumping all of my thoughts into a rough draft, and I should hopefully have something eminently playable by the end of the night. GO BRAIN GO

Okay, that’s that. Right around three or four hours from spark to pretty okay real first draft. Now for getting it laid out into a single page, and we’re ready to roll.

And there we go. Done and submitted. Whew. Sleep now.

My snarky comment is that you’d have to ask mods and wait 4 weeks for response. But I don’t think there’s any rule against that, no. You can probably even piggy back on Gauntlet Discord server for discussion unless rules there prevent discussion in the discussion channel (I honestly don’t know).
