Is partnering with someone allowed? I had made plans to do that before learning there were rewards.

Yeah, that’s fine. We’ll send both partners the dice/magnet prize. If the entry wins or places, that will be split between you.

This is so cool! Thank you so much for holding it. My 13-year-old kid and I each intend to write an incursion. Contest or no, it’s a great writing exercise. That said, is there a minimum age to enter the contest?

That’s great! As for your question, it’s not something we thought about, but I think it’s ok if your son wants to participate. If he wins or places, we would probably need to send you his winnings since I’m assuming he doesn’t have PayPal or anything like that.

Can we make multiple submissions or is it one entry per participant?

Multiple submissions are fine!

Thanks for running this contest! If we need to include new character sheets for a different kind of setting, are those included in the 3,000-word limit?

Yes, but you should still have plenty of space. Most incursions we have published have been around 2000 words.

Is there a list of published incursions / themes anywhere? I’d like to avoid repeating a theme that’s already ink-on-the-page.

Here’s a list of everything that’s been published so far:

The Trophy page lists the official ones, too (not super descriptive, but I’m happy to clarify for anyone who doesn’t have them): https://www.gauntlet-rpg.com/trophy-rpg.html

Thanks! This is super helpful.

quick question about the rule “no special formatting”, I am breaking my character sheet into three columns like it is the Codex Dark 2, is this acceptable or do you want dead simple text?

That will be fine. Mainly we just don’t want anyone to do a bunch of graphics and layout.

Just finished the draft of mine - perhaps vanillia, but also very much purple prose. Gotta trim 300 words though.

Enjoyable to write, almost like the first few pages of writing a mega-dungeon or setting for a more complex system.
